Follow the video tutorial or written steps below to set SafetyMode as the default home app when using Google Family Link.
STEP 1: Login to the Google Family Link website using your parent Google Account. Or, open the Family Link app on your parent phone.
STEP 2: Select the "Screen time" page.
STEP 3: There is a small(!) arrow above the "Lock" button. Press this arrow.
STEP 4: Scroll to the bottom of the page, until you see "Change default apps".
STEP 5A: Set the "Change default apps" toggle to ON.
STEP 5B: When asked to "Allow SafetyMode to change default app", press "OK".
STEP 5C:You will now see the "Change default apps" toggle set to ON.
Well done! You've successfully changed the "Default home apps" setting.
You should now be able to set SafetyMode as the default launcher on child's phone without issue.
