Updated this week

What is the Unsuitable Website Blocker?

The Unsuitable Website Blocker is a SafetyMode setting that completely blocks adult and harmful websites from being accessed.

Similar settings are often available on your home Wi-Fi. However, this SafetyMode feature will function regardless of how the phone is connected to the internet - whether that's 5G, your home Wi-Fi, or any other Wi-Fi network.

How do I turn the Unsuitable Websites Blocker on or off?

On your child's phone:

  1. Tap 'Settings' on the home screen

  2. Select 'SafetyMode Settings', then enter your parental control password

  3. Tap 'Settings' again

  4. Tap the toggle next to the text that says 'Block unsuitable websites' in the 'Blocks & Filters' section to toggle it on or off. Or, click on the text that says 'Block unsuitable websites' to customise the website blocker in more detail.

Does Adult Website Blocker stop all websites?

No. Adult Website Blocker prevents websites on a list of adult sites but your child can still access safe, everyday websites.

Can my child change the Adult Website Blocker settings?

No. Only parents with the SafetyMode password can enable or disable Web Filtering. Children cannot turn it off themselves.

Can I manage Adult Website Blocker remotely?

No. It is only manageable via the phone.

Why am I still seeing an unsafe website?

If you notice an unsafe site getting through, it may not yet be on the blocklist. Please let us know by emailing [email protected].

Does Adult Website Blocker work inside apps too?

Yes. Even if your child tries to open a link from another app (like a school app or messaging app), the website will still be blocked if it’s on the restricted list.

Can I block adult content but allow Social Media websites?

Yes.

  1. Tap 'Settings' on the home screen

  2. Select 'SafetyMode Settings', then enter your parental control password

  3. Tap 'Settings' again

  4. Click on the text that says 'Block unsuitable websites'

  5. Toggle 'Adult websites' to on, and turn 'Social Media websites' to 'off'

Can I block all websites other than specific ones I want my child to access?
