How do I turn the notification blocker on or off?

On the your child's phone:

  1. Tap Settings on the home screen.

  2. Select SafetyMode Settings, then enter your parent password

  3. Tap Settings.

  4. Use the toggle to turn notifications on or off in the 'Blocks & Filters' section.

Do notifications stop completely when the Blocker is enabled?

Once enabled, notifications from disabled apps are completely hidden - your child won’t see banners, pop-ups, or sounds from those disabled apps. Notifications from allowed apps will still be shown.

Can my child change the notification blocker settings?

No. Only parents with the SafetyMode password can adjust the notification blocker. Children can’t change these settings from their phone.

What happens if I turn the blocker off?

If the notification blocker is off, your child will still see incoming notifications from disabled apps, but they won’t be able to open or use those apps.

Can I manage the Notification Blocker over the web?

If the notification blocker is enabled on the phone, then you can disable apps from sending notifications via the parent portal at SafetyMode.com. However, the notification blocker must be enabled on the phone to control notifications in this way.

The notification blocker can only be turned on on off via the phone itself.

Why am I still seeing notifications from a blocked app?

This usually means the notification blocker has been turned off, or the app hasn’t been fully disabled from the home screen.

Re-enter SafetyMode settings, check the notification blocker toggle, and make sure the app is removed from the home screen via the 'Apps' menu.
