How to enable the permissions required for SafetyMode

A guide to enabling the permissions required for SafetyMode. These permissions are necessary for SafetyMode to supervise your child's activity.

Please note that the steps below are performed on the Nothing 3(a)Lite. Android settings may slightly differ on other devices.

STEP 1: Ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.

STEP 2: Tick the box to accept the terms and conditions and press "Begin permissions".

These permissions can be reviewed at safetymode.com/terms-and-conditions

STEP 3: Press "Start" to begin. SafetyMode requires system permissions to actively monitor content on your phone.

STEP 4A: Give SafetyMode accessibility access by pressing "Enable".

STEP 4B: Press "Agree & Enable".

STEP 4C: Press "Start SafetyMode AI" under "Downloaded apps".

STEP 4D: In the grey box “Start SafetyMode AI”, tap and switch the toggle to ON.

STEP 4E: Allow "START SafetyMode AI" by pressing allow.

Step 5A: SafetyMode needs to be set as the default home launcher. Press "Set as Default".

Step 5B: Press "Agree & Set as Default".

Step 5C: Select SafetyMode as the default home app.

Step 6: Allow SafetyMode to have contacts permissions by pressing "Allow". Then, press "Allow" again in the pop-up.

Step 7: Allow SafetyMode location access by pressing "Allow". Then, press "Whilst using the app" in the pop-up.

Step 8: Allow SafetyMode to have Phone Access by pressing "Allow". Then, press "Allow" in the pop-up.

Step 9A: Allow SafetyMode to have notification access by pressing "Allow".

Step 9B: Select "SafetyMode" on the "Notification read, reply and control" page. You may need to scroll down the screen to find "SafetyMode".

Step 9C: Give SafetyMode notification access by setting the toggle to ON.

Step 9D: Press "Allow".

Step 10A: Allow SafetyMode to have app usage access by pressing "Allow".

Step 10B: Now select "SafetyMode". You may need to scroll down the screen to find SafetyMode.

Step 10C: Turn on "Usage access" by tapping the toggle.

Step 11A: Allow SafetyMode overlay permissions by pressing "Enable".

Step 11B: Now select "SafetyMode". You may need to scroll down to the screen to find SafetyMode.

Step 11C: Give SafetyMode access to "Display over other apps" by setting the toggle to ON.

Well done! You've now completed the SafetyMode permissions set-up!
