How to adjust the content filter settings

Understanding the content filter settings

In addition to filter level, SafetyMode's content filters each have three settings.

1. Block content

When "Block content" is turned on, content flagged by your chosen filter level is blocked by SafetyMode (see below). This prevents the content from being seen on the device.

This is the setting that controls whether the child actually sees the content or not.

2. Save screenshots

When "Save screenshots" is turned on, SafetyMode saves a screenshot of the blocked.

These include:

  • A screenshot of the blocked content

  • The app that triggered the filter

  • Which filter was triggered

  • What time the filter was triggered

For text filters, a record of which word(s) triggered the filter is also included.

This helps parents understand what has been happening on the device over time, rather than only seeing live notifications.

3. Send me emails

When "Send me emails" is turned on, you’ll receive emails when content is detected, based on your chosen alert setting.

Depending on how your alerts are set up, this may include:

  • real-time alerts for immediate notification

  • summary emails that group activity together

This setting helps parents stay informed without needing to check the app constantly.
