App Scheduling

Decide which apps appear on your child's home screen, and when.

Updated this week

How can I manage apps?

Choose which apps appear on the home screen via 'Apps and Schedules' in the settings menu if using the standard List mode layout. This will be under 'Apps' on the home screen if the format has been switched to Grid mode.

Drag and drop an app into the appropriate schedule (Always, Never, or a custom schedule).

Apps which are disabled (either permanently or during a scheduled time window) will not be accessible to your child and they will not receive notifications from these apps whilst they are disabled.

How do I make my own schedule?

You can decide when apps are available for your child, and for how long.

If using the standard homepage layout, (List mode), you can schedule apps through the settings menu and 'Apps and Schedules'. If your homepage layout is Grid mode, you can schedule apps via 'Apps' on the home screen.

Tap 'Add a schedule', give it a name, and set the times and duration.

The daily limit is the total time your child can spend across all apps in that schedule. You can also set weekday availability by selecting only weekday timeslots.

Can I manage app schedules over the web?

Sign in to web.safetymode.com to manage the apps on your child's device from your phone or computer.

Here, you can move apps between 'Always', 'Never' or into a schedule to add them to the home screen. The phone settings may take a few minutes to update.

What does 'won't receive notifications' mean for hidden apps?

Any app that's hidden through the schedule settings will not appear on your child's home screen. SafetyMode’s notification blocker ensures that the disabled apps do not have internet connectivity.

As a result, kids won't be distracted by notifications pushed to apps they can't currently use.
